What remains of Edith Finch

While looking for some new games to play, I came across this one.
'What remains of Edith Finch', a game developed by Giant Sparrow and published by Annapurna Interactive.

This game despite being short, deserves more credit, it's the kind of game that story-crazed people would love.

I wasn't sure of what genre it was when I first got it neither did I know it's summary, I picked it from a bunch of random games along with some others. So, when I started off the game it gave me a vibe that it's a horror; I'm not good with horror, haven't played many either. So, I decided to play this with my brother beside me.
Yeah, I bamboozled myself but it turned out to be a good experience, an adventure game that offers much more.

Like I said before, the game is short, probably 3 hours long, so I don't want to spoil anything by giving a detailed description of the story.

It's a narrative of Edith Finch's diary of her experience and discovery of returning to her old house where she lived up till the age of 10. She ventures through the, now unlocked, doors of her house to learn the secrets of her family's history and curse.

The game progresses smoothly and tells the story of each Finch in their own narrative immersing us into this uncanny setting, it hits home but, I suppose, in the strangest manner.

It was released somewhere in January 2017 so you're expected  to have a decent system to run the game, I was able to play it smoothly on medium settings.

It's a family friendly game and its definitely worth your time.

If I had to give a critique it'd probably be that it wasn't long enough and didn't employ much game mechanics but I doubt that was Giant Sparrow's aim when developing this game.
It's an interactive game and they certainly delivered on it.

The main selling point for the game is its story which evidently I can't tell much about but the game itself is eye-catching with the creative animation. I'd argue that this type of gameplay actually amplifies the story and should be done more often.

I say a lot of things but I can't say much for this game, it's wonderful and made my day. It's one of those games that can attract a really large audience but by now it's almost forgotten.

Call me biased but I'm giving it a 10/10 . Fight me.

Don't forget to watch the trailer here!
