Insecurities - About One's Future

"Everyone wants to live a smooth and wealthy life, everyone wants to be comfortable, to be at peace..... everyone  wants to eat; but few are willing to hunt."

7.5 billion people on the face of the Earth and yet, only a few percentage of them have gone out of the way, all the way to achieve their dreams. The one thing that kept them going was, they weren't afraid of this word "Insecurity" , they weren't swayed by petty thoughts of 'ifs' and 'buts'.

Let's face the fact guys, we all at some point in our life have been depressed , trying to figure out what happens in the future and that's when this term "Insecurity " comes in action. Let me cite an example for you to understand more clearly.

Let's assume that there's a boy who's really tensed and stressed out about his exams. Like 'What will happen to me, how will I do in the exams?' So he goes and seeks his friends help. His friend advices him to wear this particular amulet and says that the amulet is really lucky. So our hero, the boy happily wears it during the exams, but on the result day it is told that he has failed. Now the boy is really confused "How come I failed when I wore this amulet?". He explains everything to his teacher, who calmly replies "You did everything, except studying ".

So, basically the point is not to lose focus of your goals. Even the best Archers have missed due to loss of aim/focus. In the above example the boy has been portrayed as a normal human being who
does have normal problems, and his friend is portrayed as an "external factor". Now the external factors are those things that won't exactly help you out of the situation but make you feel comfortable in the short term. These external factors tend to act on people and make them lose their aim in life. If only the boy had focused on studying rather than the amulet. Many people have faith in materialistic things, am not saying that it's bad, but if you're gonna ask God "Give me straight A's" ; not gonna happen.

If you don't do anything, how do you expect things to change!!!

The most common notion seen these days is giving up to a situation, task or any circumstance. People nowadays tend to give up easily because they just feel at some point that the effort is not worth it. But what they don't realize is that giving up is, in itself, an insecurity. Just think about it, if the primitive people gave up easily on their hunt of large prey , they probably would have starved to death, and they would not starve alone it would include their families too. So, when you give up, you are not only making your life hard, but also affecting others, without you realizing it. Though that does not mean that you have to fight for it every time; learn the difference between giving up and letting go. Life is hard but giving up won't make it any easier.

Parents play an important role in the life of every individual but there are some times when the bringing up of a child is affected, not because the parents did not pay heed but rather they over did it in some manner. And the most difficult thing for an individual is choosing a profession, now here  both the parents and the child have a vital role to play, yet it is seen that many parents often pressurize their children to go after a certain job/course. This in itself leads to insecurities about the future, where the child does not get to decide what he wants to do and is made to indulge in a course which he has never heard. Of course parents make the best decisions for us but at some point we have to put our opinions too. Otherwise the cycle of insecure thoughts becomes a never ending process, some people try to avoid it by lying to themselves because at "that" time in their life they did not voice their opinions and were made to go on someone else's path.

And let's just not emphasise on careers or professions, there are other issues related to insecurities about ones future. These things mainly include finding a nice spouse, a house to live in etc. People really get upset when they think about these and that's when a sense of helplessness surrounds them, tons of things effect the individual - anxiety, depression, negativity, pressure and what not.

Now the question arises, how does one fight insecurity? Well it's pretty simple, but not as simple as it sounds. It includes not losing your sense of purpose in life, and by that I mean never ever lose focus of your goals. If you don't believe in yourself why is anyone going to believe in you? It all depends on believing in oneself .  The greatest way to beat insecurities is to always remember - If you know yourself better than others than you shouldn't have a problem about what others think.

"The greatest fear in the world is the opinion of others, and the moment you are unafraid of the crowd, you are no longer a sheep, you become a Lion. A great roar arises in your heart, the roar of freedom" - Osho

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Do not let people who didn't go after their dreams talk you out of yours. At any given moment you have the power to say "this is not how my story ends". Lions hunt alone, sheep stay in a herd; don't be afraid to go on your own path.

Always remember, "Follow your dreams or spend the rest of your life working for someone who did."
